About Home Watch of Sarasota and Manatee

Home Watch was started by Captain Robert Smith from continued requests of his customers through his yacht management company.  

Many customers from Captain Smith's yacht management company took advantage of the slowing in the real-estate market and purchased waterfront property. 

These customers then moved their boat from the marina to their back-yard.  The natural request was made by the owner, "Since you are caring for my boat, could you keep an eye on my house as well?"  

It was from this customer demand that Home Watch came to be. We are proud to provide our customers real-time support and communication of their home, property and their surrounding area.

Robert, grew up on Anna Maria Island and lives in Sarasota with his wife, Deborah and daughter, Delaney. A "water-family", they enjoy the best of the area on their custom 21 open-fisherman.  

"This area is the most wonderful place to grow up and experience. It is no wonder to me that people want to live here.  I see it as a compliment that people come to my hometown area and take in a slice I what I have enjoyed my whole life." 

After earning his degree in Communication at Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania, Robert lived in many areas along the eastern seaboard only to ultimately return home to start his own business.  

His training while working towards his two NCAA All-Americas in swimming pays off in his work ethic today and how he goes about business. 

Not one to sit still, Robert is also a certified scuba diver, earned his captain's license and presently is most interested in yoga and martial arts training.
